This is a selection of some of the Home Decor pieces I have been commissioned to design over the last ten years. This page features a very eclectic group of items: from children's height charts to bargello roman shades to custom 36 inch pillows including drag racing cars. If interested in having something similar designed for youself or as a gift for others, please go to the Commission Formsmenu and fill out a commission form for the particular piece you are interested in having done. I would be very happy to work with you on your own unique piece and can always design sometime totally unique just for you. The sky is the limit!
This is one of two commissioned pieces. My client requested a height chart for marking the growth of their daughter who is two years old. The chart is 10"x85" and is made of 100% cotton fabrics.
I have incorporated into the chart, a frame to hold a wallet size photograph of the little girl each year through her 18th birthday.
The piece is hand quilted and hand bound. Quilted inside each frame is the corresponding year for her age as she grows. The first frame on the bottom has a zero in it and is for her first picture taken the day she was born.
Her name is handquilted down the side and a frog, ladybug, sun, tree, building blocks with her initials and flowers are hand quilted on the chart.
Each year on her birthday she will be measured and the date and a mark will be made on the chart side with a permanent fabric marker. Detail Photo

This is the second of two commissioned charts. My client requested a height chart for marking the growth of their second child, a son. The chart is 10"x85" and is made of 100% cotton fabrics.
I have incorporated into the chart, a frame to hold a wallet size photograph of the little boy each year through his 18th birthday.
The piece is hand quilted and hand bound. Quilted inside each frame is the corresponding year for his age as he grows. The first frame on the bottom has a zero in it and is for his first picture taken the day he was born.
His name is handquilted down the side, and frogs, bugs, turtles, pine trees, basketballs, footballs and soccer balls are hand quilted on the chart.
At the top is hand quilted a classic car from the early 1970s and at the bottom is a pair of praying hands as well as a heart with a cross inside.
Each year on his birthday he will be measured. The date and a mark will be made on the chart side with a permanent fabric marker.
Clients can order their own custom height chart by going to the Commission Forms page in the menu bar on the left and downloading the Custom Height Chart form.

This pillow is one of a matching set made for a drag racer. It features his car in the photo, cooling off in between races. The black and white checkerboard design is NOT a preprinted fabric, but a pieced section of white and black fabric. It is hand quilted including the number of his car on the top and the bottom and the Chevy emblem on the sides.
This pillow was the third addition made for the couple with the photo Anniversary Quilt. This was their second granddaughter. Her two older brothers were also featured as pillows since they were born after the Anniversary quilt was made.

Made for a couple celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary in February 2006. Their seven children commissioned the pillows as a surprise.
The colors match the anniversary couple's livingroom sofa. A photo was taken of the sofa when the couple was out of town by one of the children and that was provided to me along with their wedding photo as well as a recent photo. I was free to design the pillows however I saw fit.
The customer requested a custom basketball pillow for their son's high school graduation. The son's statistics from his four years of varsity basketball are hand quilted on the top of the pillow.
His jersey number is hand quilted in the center. His name, school name, and year of graduation are hand quilted in the purple border. Each basketball is hand quilted around as well.
A pair of pillows were custom made from glow-in-the-dark volleyball fabric for a graduating volleyball player.
The outer colors of gold and blue were selected to coordinate with the colors in her room. Terminology from volleyball was hand quilted into four of the squares (ace, hit, pass and set).
Her player number is in the center (#33). In the volleyball material squares, a volleyball was hand quilted in each one.

This one-of-a-kind Roman Shade was commissioned for a house remodel project. It is made with 12 different blue fabrics and six browns.
The "quilt" is not hand quilted as my other pieces are, but machine stitched only where the staves are for raising and lowering the shade. The shade has no batting, just a piece of unbleached muslin on the back side. It is signed and dated by the artist. The shade is 86 3/4" x 95" and is in two seperate panels so that only one can be open at a time or both.

This wall hanging was commissioned in 1997 for a redecorating piece for a client's dining room. She was going to Hunter Green and Burgundy. She was also a Scottie dog lover so this was designed for her. It is hung above the antique ice box in the dining room on point as shown in the photo.
The white background behind each dog is echo quilted by hand 1/8 of an inch apart. The binding is gold lame.
Unfortunately, no detail photos exist of the quilt.
